Learn how to add a new Bell Controller device to OneVue or update its primary settings from the OWDC app.
Contains the bell schedules. If an existing Zone is to be assigned to a relay, the exact name must be provided or option to create a new Zone. A Bell Controller's relay triggers the ringing of the school bells based on the schedules set in its assigned Zone.
OneVue Network Profile the device will connect to. For a Non-DHCP network, you are required to provide the device's static IP address.
From the OWDC app, you cannot create a new network or edit its settings. Before you begin, from OneVue verify the network exists or add a new network.
From your Android device, open the OWDC app.
Log in: enter your OneVue username and password (required to be assigned to the Account Admin role).
Remove AC power from the Bell Controller. During the next step, it receives power from its connection to your Android device. If battery power is enabled, leave this on.
Connect the Bell Controller to your Android device using a USB OTG or a USB C cable (dependent on your device).
Add Device screen displays and Con is displayed on Bell Controller screen, which indicates it's in configuration mode.
To assign or update network: select a Network Type, select a network. Select Next.
Zone 1 & 2: enter an existing zone or add a new zone. A zone selection is displayed for both of the two relays.
Next to continue.
OWDC configures Bell Controller and displays its configuration status.
Do not remove the connection between the Bell Controller and your Android device until prompted.
When the Disconnect Device message appears, remove USB connection between the Bell Controller and your Android device. Re-apply AC power to the Bell Controller.
Once disconnected, the app verifies the device successfully checks-in to OneVue. If after 15 minutes it does not check-in, the app displays a status message.
If applicable, it may also take time to download the latest firmware (Bell Controller LCD displays UP).
You can now configure additional devices or close the app when you’re done.
