A state change allows a user assigned to an Admin Role to change the state of a sensor. Although OneVue monitors and manages the state of a sensor, this feature is designed to provide a function that allows a user to change the state of a sensor.
This procedure should only be performed if a condition warrants manually changing the state of a sensor.
For a Temperature Sensor with dual probes and only one probe is being used, it's recommended to set the state of the probe (channel) not in use to a Suspended state.
Changing to an Alarm or Warning state: Upon each check-in, OneVue automatically sets the state transmitted by the sensor. Therefore, if a subsequent check-in results in a Normal state, the OneVue automatically sets the state to Normal.
Changing to a Suspended or Decommissioned state: A subsequent check-in with a Normal, Warning, or Alarm state does not change its state. Therefore, a manual state change is required to be completed to change the state from Suspended or Decommissioned.
State change history: OneVue logs and saves the details of each state change event, including the date and time the state change was made, the user who performed the change, and the reason the change was performed. All state changes are viewable from the sensor state history.
Go to Devices > Sensors.
Select the Sensor Type link of the sensor.
Select Show Advanced Options.
From the New State drop-down, select the state the sensor is to be changed to.
From the Reason field, enter the condition that warranted changing the state.

Select Change State.
The sensor state is changed. Any active alerts associated to the previous state are acknowledged and cleared.
