The order that devices are installed is critical to a successful deployment. First install and power on the Bridge devices. Once a Bridge has successfully connected to the facility's network and checked-in to OneVue, you can then begin to install Sync Bluetooth clocks and repeaters.
Inspect the package contents to verify all components are present and no damage has occurred during shipping.

USB configuration cable; supplied with a device order only. For use with the Primex Device Configuration software to set a Bridge to No Network mode, manually configure network settings or troubleshoot device network connectivity issues. It's recommended to save this cable for future use. |
Optional accessories (purchased separately): AC power extension cable
Recommended (not supplied): Self-adhesive hook-and-loop mounting tape to secure cables
When the order was placed either Device Configuration or OWDC configuration was selected. When Device Configuration is selected, the Bridge is configured and added to OneVue before it ships from Primex. If OWDC is selected, the Bridge is required to be configured onsite.
Device Preconfiguration completed: verify the device can successfully check-in to OneVue at its installation location.
OneVue Wired Device Configurator (OWDC) configuration: configure the device with OWDC app. Bridge is assigned to a network and added to OneVue. A Network Profile must be added to OneVue before a device can be configured with the OWDC app.
Network not available at the time of installation: Bridge is required to be set to No Network mode to allow its communication with clocks over the Sync Bluetooth mesh network.
Network requires EAP-TLS client certificates for network devices: Device Preconfiguration is required and when the device arrives on site, the certificate must be installed using the Primex Device Configuration software. The device can then connect and authenticate to its assigned network.
Where the Bridge is mounted impacts its use and operation. It's recommended to view the Deployment Examples to ensure proper placement of your Bridge devices.
The guidelines below should be taken into consideration to ensure the installation location provides optimal performance.
Bridge can be mounted to the outside surface of a wall or other type of unit using the supplied 3M™ Dual Lock™ Tape strips or directly to a wall surface by way of a key-hole mount. If a more secure mount is required, the mount with the use of two #6" drywall screws and anchors.
Prepare the mounting area to ensure maximum adhesion. If there is moisture, dry the area first.
Remove the device cover; simultaneously press the two tabs located on the top side of the device.
-
Insert the 3.0v Primex Lithium/Iron Disulfide Battery Pack or two 1.5v Lithium AA batteries and set the battery on/off switch to ON (up position).
Follow the symbols showing the correct way to position the positive (+) and negative (-) ends of the battery pack.
Located to the lower-right of the battery compartment, set the battery on/off switch to the Up (On) position.
Replace the device cover.
-
Mount the Bridge.

Key-hole mount
Using the supplied 3M™ Dual Lock Fastener & Tape, secure Bridge to surface.
Press a black fastener strip and a clear adhesive strip together.
Remove the backing off of the clear adhesive strip(s) and affix to the back of the device. It's recommended to place the strip(s) horizontally.
Remove the backing off of the black fastener strip and affix to mounting surface; creating a secure mount between device and surface.
Verify strips are securely fastened together and device mount is secure and level.
Determine the mounting location by referencing the key-hole slot located on the back of the device.
Mark and pre-drill a mounting hole into the wall surface. 1.75" distance between the two key-hole slots.
Insert wall anchor into each mounting hole.
Insert a screw into the wall anchor, leaving approximately 3/8” of the screw head exposed for hanging.
Attach device to surface by sliding the key-hole slot onto the mounting screw. Ensure the device is properly secured and level.
Orient the Bluetooth antenna to point straight down (vertically) to maximize its signal reception. Also, verify it's securely attached.
-
Apply power; AC or PoE.
It's recommended to dress the cables with self-adhesive hook-and-loop mounting tape.
-
Verify its LCD screen displays Signal OK.
This indicates it successfully connected to the facility network and checked-in to OneVue. When power was applied, it automatically initiated a check-in.
-
If the LCD screen does not display Signal OK, initiate a manual check-in. Press and release its check-in button .
Its LCD screen indicates its check-in sequence.
The name of a clock, bridge or repeater commonly identifies its install location. It's recommended to develop a standard naming convention to allow devices to be located if maintenance should be required.
Go to Devices > Clocks.
From the list, select the Name link of the device. Its profile is displayed.
From the Name field, enter its name. Allows up to a maximum of 50 characters.
Select Save.
Note
Tip: If naming a Bluetooth Bridge, select Bridge instead of clocks in step 1 (above)
Primex Bluetooth products are shipped with a MAC address label that can be removed and placed on building plans or a list of building locations that can be added to OneVue at your convenience.
