When your school bells are not ringing it could be due to a bell schedule or the bell controller device. This issue can be related to the bell schedule assigned to a bell controller relay, a bell controller being in an Alarm state, or the bell controller's terminal wiring to your PA/Bell system.
-
Verify the bell schedule assigned to the Bell Controller Relays are correct.
Are the dates set in each default and exception schedule correct?
Are the periods set in each default and exception schedule correct?
When an exception schedule does not have any periods, the bells will not ring for the dates set in its assignment.
-
Verify the Bell Controller Relays are all in a Normal state.
If in an Alarm state with Unresponsive status, see Bell Controller in an alarm state with unresponsive status.
-
Review the bell controller's event history. Identify the date the bells stopped ringing.
If there are events: verify the wiring between the bell controller and PA/Bell system is correct. Refer to the Bell Controller terminal block specifications. Troubleshooting may also require assistance from the PA/Bell system integrator or installer.
If there are no events: verify with the onsite IT staff that the OneVue Network Requirements are met. If the requirements are not met, this may prevent the bell controller from downloading bell schedules from OneVue.
