View the current state and state history of a bridge

In addition to the Dashboard, from the profile of a Bridge you can view its current state and state history.

OneVue also stores all state changes that allow you to view its historical operating conditions. This information is helpful when troubleshooting its operation.

View the current state of a bridge

  1. Go to Devices > Bridges.

  2. From the list select the Name link of the Bridge. Its profile is displayed.

    The bridge's current state and status are displayed. When in a Warning state, its status indicates the cause of the bridge entering a Warning state.

    Normal

    Device is operating as expected.

    Its status will be blank during this state.

    It may also display Return to Normal if its last state was Warning or Alarm.

    Warning

    Device is not operating as expected and may warrant corrective action.

    Any of the statuses below will result in the device entering a Warning state.

    Unresponsive: Bridge has not checked-in to OneVue for more than three (3) consecutive days. This is commonly due to the device could not establish a connection to its assigned network. For Wi-Fi use it may not be within range of a wireless signal or the wireless signal strength is not adequate.

    Time Sync Failure: During its last check-in, the device failed to obtain UTC time from a NTP Server. This may be due to it could not connect to its assigned network or it could not connect to the NTP Servers assigned in its gateway profile. Use of an external NTP Server requires that Port 123 to be open on your network.

    Low Battery (battery powered models only): During its last check-in, its battery voltage level was below the expected level. It's recommended to change its batteries.

    Hand Position Failure (analog clock models only): the daily hand verification check has failed for three consecutive days. Commonly this is due to a mechanical error that is internal to the clock.

    Suspended

    OneVue is not monitoring the device.

    The Suspended state is designed for use during a temporary condition, such as when a device is being repaired or during troubleshooting.

    OneVue continues to update the status of the device, but it remains in a Suspended state until a system user changes its state to Normal.

    The status displayed may include Unresponsive, Low Battery, Time Sync Failure, or Cleared. Cleared indicates there are no issues.

    Decommissioned

    State that is to be used when the device is no longer in use or operational.

    During this state, its operating condition data is not logged, stored, or monitored.

    The Decommissioned state is designed to permanently disable a device from your OneVue account, such as when it has been disposed of.

    All historical data is retained for reporting purposes.

View the state history of a bridge

  1. Go to Devices > Bridges.

  2. From the list select the Name link of the Bridge. Its profile is displayed.

  3. From the State History option, select View.

  4. Set the date range to include.

    Go To Bridge Start Date: when selected, sets the Start Date to the date the Bridge was added to your OneVue account.

    Backward 1 Week: when selected, sets the start date back seven days.

    Start Date: select the start date of the date range to display.

    End Date: select the end date of the date range to display.

    Forward 1 Week: when selected, sets the start date forward seven days.

The state history for the selected date range is displayed.

Column

Definition

Change Date/Time

Date and time the state change occurred, either by the system or from a state change completed by a user.

State

The state the device was set to at the specific change date/time.

Reason

Status of the bridge that resulted in the state change or the system generated status.

If the state change was completed by a user, the reason entered by the user is displayed.

User

If change was completed by a user, the name of the user that made the state change is displayed.
