A sensor's state is determined by its last transmitted reading and operating condition and its status identifies the cause of it entering a Warning or Alarm state. A sensor's monitored operating conditions include its sensing element, last check-in, and battery level.
When a sensor is in an Alarm or Warning state, its status identifies the condition that resulted in its current state. For example, if the status of a Monitored Asset is Out of Range, Past Alarm Delay, this indicates its last reading has not within its normal operating range (Normal Condition) and the time period the last reading has been out of range has exceeded the time limit set in the sensor's Alarm Delay setting.
How to view the State and Status of a sensor
Go to Devices > Sensors. The data displays the current State and Status of all sensors.
To view the State History of a sensor, select its Name link to view its profile > select State History.
The following table provides the details of a sensor's State and Status.
State |
Current Condition |
Status resulting in state |
---|---|---|
Normal |
Last transmitted sensor reading is within its Normal Condition and the sensor device is operating as expected. |
Status is blank during this state. Differential Pressure Door Switch monitoring only: an Open status indicates the Differential Pressure Door Switch is in an Open status. When in an Open status for longer than the time period set in its Door Delay Alarm setting, the Monitored Asset is set to an Alarms Disabled state. |
Warning |
Last transmitted reading is not within its Normal Condition, but the amount of time the reading has been out of range has not exceeded the time period set in the sensor's Alarm Delay setting. When in a Warning state, OneVue:
|
Out of Range The last reading was either below or above its Normal Condition (temperature, temperature and humidity, or differential pressure sensor) or the last reading was not its Normal Condition (water leak and contact closure sensor). |
Alarm |
Last transmitted reading has been out of range for longer than the time period set in its Alarm Delay setting or the device is not operating as expected. When in an Alarm state, OneVue:
|
Enters an Alarm state due to any of the statuses below: Out of Range, Past Alarm Delay The last reading was either below or above its Normal Condition (temperature, temperature and humidity, or differential pressure sensor) or the last reading was not its Normal Condition (water leak and contact closure sensor).
Unresponsive Indicates the sensor device has not checked-in to OneVue for more than the time period set in the sensor's gateway Unresponsive Timeout setting.
No Probe (applies to Temperature Sensor & Water Leak Sensor) When a Probe has been removed from a Temperature Sensor or a Water Detector is removed from a Water Leak Sensor, a no probe status is automatically sent to OneVue.
Low Battery Indicates the sensor device has reported a low battery level.
|
Suspended |
A system user sets to a Suspended state. This state is designed for use during a temporary condition, such as when a sensor or Monitored Asset is being repaired or replaced. When set to Suspended, no alerts are generated for the Monitored Asset. When set to a Suspended state, OneVue:
NoteThe Monitored Asset is required to be set to a Normal state by a system user to resume alerting. |
OneVue continues to log and store readings and sensor device operating conditions. NoteStatus changes are for information purposes only. |
Decommissioned |
A system user sets to a Decommissioned state. Set to a Decommissioned state when it's no longer in use or is not required to be monitored. The Decommissioned state is designed to permanently disable a sensor from your account, such as when a sensor has been taken out of service. When set to a Decommissioned state, OneVue:
NoteOneVue subscription: You must contact Primex Technical Support to remove a decommissioned device from your account's subscription billing. |
|
Alarms Disabled - Differential Pressure Monitoring only |
The Alarms Disabled only applies when Door Monitoring is configured at the Differential Pressure sensor device. Set to the Alarms Disabled state when the Door Switch has been in an Open status for longer than the time period set within its Door Delay setting. When set to the Alarms Disabled state, OneVue:
|
Past Door Delay The Differential Pressure Door Switch has been in an Open status for longer than the time period set within its Door Delay setting |
