If your computer does not have a serial port, a USB to serial adapter with a FTDI chip set is required. Other adapters may not function properly. For more information or recommendations, please contact Primex Technical Support.
Plug the female end of the male to female null modem serial cable into the male DB9 connector on the other module; this will be referred to as the “client” module.
Connect the male end of this serial cable to the Transmitter computer socket.
Connect the power cord to the module and install the appropriate plug for 120V receptacle operation.
Connect the antenna to the client module, ensuring that the antenna is in the vertical position.
Program the bell/tone scheduler on the scheduling computer and save the file.
Plug one end of the female DB9 to female DB9 serial cable into the serial port (male DB9 connector) to your computer.
Connect the other end of the serial cable into the male DB9 connector of either module; this will be referred to as the “server” module.
Connect the power cord to the module.
Connect the antenna to the “server” module, ensuring that the antenna is in the vertical position.
Connect the “Client” Module.
Plug the female end of the male to female null modem serial cable into the male DB9 connector on the other module; this will be referred to as the “client” module.
Connect the male end of this serial cable the Transmitter computer socket.
Connect the power cord to the module, and install the appropriate plug for 120V receptacle operation.
Connect the antenna to the “client” module, ensuring that the antenna is in the vertical position.
Note
To complete testing, the "server" and "client" modules are required to be installed.
Place the units in their intended locations near the Transmitter and scheduling computer. The first and second LEDs on the both modules will light up, indicating power and the establishment of an RF link. If the red light on either module is out, there is no link.
Using the Event Schedule Pro software, bring up a schedule that you want to download to the Transmitter.
Click Transmitter and then click download to.
The computer may ask if you want to save any changes you've made, and you can select Yes or No.
If the system prompts you to Overwrite data in Transmitter, click Ok and the progress bar move from left to right on the screen.
The computer will acknowledge the successful download or indicate if the download was not successful. If the download is unsuccessful, or hesitant, it may be necessary to reduce the distance between the “server” and “client” modules.
