Water Detector specifications

Operation

Detects water bridge across the two metal contacts located on the bottom side of the Water Detector. A change to the voltage reading measurement detects a dry or wet condition. When water reaches both metal contacts, activates a change to the voltage reading measurement that is then received by Water Leak Sensor.

Perimeter being monitored can be expanded by daisy chaining up to a maximum of four Water Detectors.

Routine Care

  • Wipe the outer surface of the product with a soft cloth. Do not use any abrasive powder or a liquid cleaning detergent.

  • Periodically check the metal contacts and wipe away any water or foreign material that has become adhered to the contacts.

    If the unit’s metal contacts come into contact with a foreign material (oil, detergent, etc.), then contacts may repel water and therefore will not be able to properly detect water.

  • Water Detector is water-resistant, but is not waterproof. If the detector has been submerged in water or becomes wet for an extended period of time, test the unit to verify water detection. If it does not detect water, the unit will need to be replaced.
