Although OneVue monitors and manages the state of your Bell Controllers, the state change is designed to provide a function that allows a user assigned to an Admin Role to change the state of a device.
Commonly, this procedure is only completed during a planned outage or troubleshooting, or when a device is taken out of service. OneVue records the details of each state change made by a user, which is viewable from the state history of a relay.
Tip
If you are only using one of the two available relays of a Bell Controller device, it's recommended to set the state of the relay not in use to a Decommissioned state.
Changing to the Alarm state: upon each check-in, OneVue automatically sets the state transmitted by the relay. Therefore, if a subsequent check-in results in a Normal state, the system automatically sets the relay's state to Normal.
-
Changing to a Suspended or Decommissioned state: a subsequent check-in with a Normal or Alarm state does not change its state. Therefore, a manual state change is required to change the state back to a Normal state.
OneVue does not generate Alerts when set to a Suspended state.
Go to Devices > Bell Controller Relays.
Select the 9-character link of the relay.
Select Show Advanced Options.
From the New State drop-down menu, select the state the relay is to be changed to.
From the Reason field, enter why its state was changed manually.
-
Select Change State.
The relay's state is changed. Any active alerts associated with the previous state are acknowledged and cleared.
